
George teams up with Captain Mark Schmidt for this thrilling Florida Keys light-tackle Gulf-side sampler. Aboard George’s MARC VI, a Mako 334 powered by triple 400hp V10 Mercury Verados, they bird-dog shrimp boats culling their hauls prior to targeting a variety of species on wrecks and bottom structures. Night time in Miami’s Biscayne Bay is anything but “sleepy”. George revisits his home waters seeking tarpon and snook, with local guide Jose Rodriguez. Aboard George’s Mako 214 powered by a 250hp V8 Mercury ProXS outboard, the duo probe the Government Cut jetties, Bay bridges and dock lights. Timing the tides, the bite happens fast with tarpon and big snook. George based out of TNT Marine Center in North Miami, with TNT Custom Marine being his long-time Mercury dealer.



Mahi and yellowtail are two popular Florida Keys species. Aboard his MARC VI, a Mako 334 powered by triple 400hp V10 Mercury Verados, George targets these crowd pleasers with marine artist Roberto “Pasta” Pantaleo and Tampa’s WFLA News Channel 8 Meteorologist Amanda Holly. Some of George’s top trolling and run-and-gun mahi tactics are revealed here. The following day, it’s all about keeping the yellowtails up and biting. Under Pasta’s tutelage, Amanda tests her artistry skills at his Islamorada Art Gallery. George and team based out of the newly renovated Pines & Palms Resort. Deep-dropping is popular throughout the Bahamas, especially off Bimini. In this episode, George joins up with team Star brite to target cold-water bottom dwellers in depths of around 1,000 feet. Under the guidance of Chad Berry, Turner Burwick and Peter Dornau - and using Penn’s new Fathom Electric 30 and 80 series cordless reels - George and Gregor Dornau tally up catches of impressively large yelloweyes. The next day, they anchor in 70 feet to catch yellowtails in traditional rod-and-reel fashion. The Bimini Big Game Club hosted the shoot.



THE 26 YEAR ITCH, Key Largo, Florida Keys – Captain Lee Lavery’s two main specialties include hand-crank/deep-dropping and yellowtailing off Key Largo, Florida Keys. After years of persuasion, she finally convinces George into taking her fishing aboard his MARC VI. The long-time friends go on to successfully hand-crank/deep-drop for Vermillion and yelloweye snappers. Afterwards, they proceed to drift and sand-ball for yellowtails with equal success. This informative episode highlights the subtleties involved in identifying productive bottom as well as the rigs and tactics which score in both environments. George and team based out of Baker’s Cay Resort Key Largo. The MARC VI docked at the Pilot House Marina.



Cold and drizzly weather greeted George on his November visit to Atlantic City, but the striped bass action kept him busy and warm! Fishing with local pro Captain Brian Williams aboard Mako’s new Apex 24 bay boat powered by a 400hp V10 Mercury Verado, the duo pitched Rapala Skitter Walks and Storm soft plastics against the marsh grass and into the channels. They go on to score 16 stripers and even a few white perch on top waters! This episode displays the tricks involved in successfully fishing for stripers in the vast back bays of southern New Jersey. George and team based out of Resorts Atlantic City.



George runs his Mako 214 from North Miami’s TNT Marine Center to Key Largo for a day of patch reef fishing. With friend Carl Grassi joining him, they show just how easy it is to make a day trip from Miami. With a live well brimming with pilchards, George and Carl catch a variety of species. Before heading back, they lunched at Gilberts Resort. It was so enjoyable, George and Carl ran back down the following day; this time to fish the inshore creeks and channels and dine at Alabama Jacks before returning to Miami. The mid-Atlantic has been enjoying strong migrations of white marlin in recent years, with Virginia Beach experiencing an impressive 2025 for both whites and tunas. George and Ken Neill III head offshore aboard the Top Notch, captained by Russ Kostinas and with Bobby Kostinas working the cockpit. Utilizing Roff’s intel on ocean circulation features and surface temperature breaks, a full deployment of dredges and teasers and an attractive spread of ballyhoo, the action began quickly. In between the whites, the yellowfins and mahi showed. The most impressive catch was a round scale spearfish released by Ken! George and team based out of the Courtyard by Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront South.



September and October often surpass the peak months of May and June for mahi throughout the Florida Keys. Case in point: with intel on water circulation features and surface temperature breaks from Roff’s, George and Liane Lopez depart Cudjoe for a large eddy far to the west. Greeted by large concentrations of weeds and frigates working the area, the action ignited as soon as two flat lines were deployed. Between school encounters and picking off singles and doubles on just two flat lines, George and Liane called it quits at 2:30 p.m.; they left the fish biting. THE CUDJOE TWO-STEP, Cudjoe, Lower Florida Keys – George and Liane Lopez are at it again. This time, they run east of Cudjoe, Florida Keys. Their goal: anchor and chum up yellowtails on the reefs, then troll small Rapala lures within the shallows of Hawk Channel. This episode showcases not only the subtleties of identifying prime bottoms for yellowtail, chumming and terminal tackle secrets, but also the how to’s of consistently trolling for fish within Hawk Channel. The new Papa Joe’s Waterfront served as the base of operation. George docked his Mako Apex 24, powered by a 400hp V10 Mercury Verado, at Papa Joe’s and stayed in their VIP suites upstairs.
